1) What is your favourite genre(s)?
action, mystery, adventure, suspense, western, parables, fables, science fiction, historical fiction, realistic fiction, essay, self help, life stories, autobiographical, biographical, history, scientific, economical, and political.
2) Do you prefer stories where the protagonist is the same gender as you?
It doesn't matter really. What I really care about is that the protagonist is a successful, strong, inteligent, and moral individual.
3) Do you prefer stories where the protagonist is the same age as you?
No. I don't think anyone should read books restricted to age. Actually most of my absolute favorite protagonists are in their late twenties and thirties. Take Sherlock for instance who I think might even bee in his fifties.
4) What is a good amount of point of views for a story?
three or four maximum really. Otherwise it's way too much. I've seen stories with ten. No kidding. I've seen stories with three or four that are well written but that's the limit. the writer who did that really well was a fairly good writer though.
5) Do you prefer chapters or not?
during writing? No. I just don't seem to be able to handle chapters very well. never have the time. however if it's for reading I absolutely like a longer book. It usually takes me longer to finish.
6) Should a story aim to be realistic or completely fabricated? (Doesn't have to be either extreme!)
It should be realistic. I think it is much easier to follow in that sense. I think fiction should mirror the world as a whole. Otherwise, it gets out of hand. People can be confused.
7) What is the most important element in a story? - the beginning, middle, ending, characters, setting, plot, etc.
The moral, I say if you can't learn anything from a piece then forget it. It's not worth reading. I think every piece you should be able to learn from and take something out of. The more you can learn from a piece the better, or it's often that way.15
8) How would you go about creating characters or world building?
I base all my characters off my life or the world. I take real people or parts of people. If you read any of my stories you will discover that all of them seem rather real.
9) Do you believe that a story is easier to read in 1st, 2nd or 3rd person? ("I" "you" "they")
It doesn't really mattter. but not you, definitely not!!!!!! That just a bad story in general. I then to read first and third person stories differently.
10) Who's your favourite author?
Ayn Rand who wrote Atlas Shrugged which is my favorite book.
11) Does it matter if characters from previous stories are "recycled" to fit into the new world by the author? (e.g, if a character is shown as new in work that isn't the original.)
If the character is the author's no. I don't see why that's such a problem. I do mind however if it's not.
